A special day with Ipswich’s youngest animal helpers

We loved welcoming the 19th Ipswich Brownies group and Rainbows last week as they worked towards their Animal Helper Badge.

They learned how to wash their hands properly using the WHO method, explored a range of veterinary equipment (including trying to identify what everything is used for!), and discovered what a veterinary nurse wears when assisting in theatre. To finish, they got hands-on learning about the three layers of a bandage and even had a go at bandaging our model dogs!

Everyone went home with some goodies, including information from Ipswich Veterinary Centre and CCOAS, plus pens and stickers. Well done to all involved—we hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we did! It was a pleasure to host such a lovely group, and who knows—we may have some future vet nurses in the making!
