CCOAS attends Suffolk Show 2025

A busy day at the Suffolk Show Demonstrating key veterinary nursing skills.

CCOAS was once again delighted to attend the Suffolk Show, held at Trinity Park, Ipswich, (27 & 28 May). As with previous years, the CCOAS team were on hand to demonstrate the skills required to be a veterinary nurse and talk to people about how to embark on a veterinary nursing career.

Visitors to the CCOAS stand were invited to have a go at CPR on our special training dog and learn how to correctly apply dressings and bandages. Children, parents and grandparents could also put their steady hands to the test by performing ‘surgery’ on a teddy bear!

Another popular activity was our ‘guess the parasite game’, where people could discover all the insects, lice, and mites that can make animals unwell. It was a pleasure to meet with so many people, including several of our past students who now work at practices across East Anglia.

Karen said: “We were very happy to be invited again to the educational zone of this wonderful county show. We were able to showcase and explain the many skills involved when training to become a veterinary nurse.

“We had hundreds of children and adults getting hands-on with our activities and our students were able to speak directly to anyone who was interesting in veterinary nursing and share how varied and rewarding the career is.”
